Just weeks before their wedding, Prince Edvard (Luke Mably) and his American sweetheart Paige (Kam Heskin) find their relationship — and the Danish monarchy — in jeopardy. Edvard’s childhood friend, Princess Kirsten (Clemency Burton-Hill), comes for a visit and plots to try to steal Edvard from Paige. An old law is also brought to light, seeming to require Edvard to marry a noblewoman or to relinquish the crown. The stress causes Paige and Edvard to break up as Edvard plans to marry Princess Kristen. Edvard and Paige’s relationship is saved at the end when Paige, with the help of her friends, finds a loop hole in the sucession law where it is null and void if Paige can demonstrate knowledge of the Danish Constitution, in Danish, before Parliament.
