A family traveling through New Salem in their wagon need groceries from Lincoln’s store and the only thing of value they have that he’ll take in exchange is a law book. After thoroughly reading the book, Abe opts for the law after receiving encouragement from his early, ill-fated love, Ann Rutledge (Pauline Moore). Too poor to own even a horse, he arrives in Springfield on a mule and soon establishes a law practice with friend John Stuart (Edwin Maxwell). At a July 4 celebration, a man is murdered in a brawl, and the accused are two brothers of a family that Lincoln knows. He stops the lynching of the two accused at the jail by telling the angry mob he really needs these clients for his first real case. The only witness to the crime is someone who claimed to have seen it under the light of a full moon. Admiring his courage, Mary Todd (Marjorie Weaver) invites him to her sister’s soiree and expresses an intense interest in his future.

Lincoln eventually gets the two brothers off by finding out who the real killer was and then decides to head on out of Springfield and move on. Read more

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (Gene Wilder) is a respected lecturer at an American medical school and is more or less happily (though blandly) engaged to the tightly wound Elizabeth (Madeline Kahn). Frederick becomes exasperated when anyone brings up the subject of his grandfather, the famous mad scientist, to the point of insisting that his name is pronounced “Fronk’-en-steen”.

A solicitor informs Frederick that he has inherited his family’s estate. Traveling to said estate in Transylvania, Frankenstein meets his comely new lab assistant Inga (Teri Garr), along with the household servants Frau Blücher (Cloris Leachman) and Igor (Marty Feldman) (who, after hearing Frederick claim his name is pronounced “Fronkensteen” counter-claims that his is pronounced “Eye’-gor.”)

Inga assists Frederick in discovering the secret entrance to his grandfather’s laboratory. Upon reading his grandfather’s private journals the doctor is inspired to resume his grandfather’s experiments in re-animating the dead. He and Igor successfully exhume and spirit away the enormous corpse of a recently executed criminal, but Igor’s attempt to steal the brain of a revered scientist from the local “brain depositary” goes awry, and he takes one labeled, “Do Not Use This Brain! Abnormal” instead.

The reassembled monster (Peter Boyle) is elevated on a platform to the roof of the laboratory during a lightning storm. The experimenters are first disappointed when the electrically charged creature fails to come to life, but the creature eventually revives. The doctor assists the monster in walking but, frightened by Igor lighting a match, it attacks Frederick and must be sedated. Upon being asked by the doctor whose brain was obtained, Igor confesses that he supplied “Abby Normal’s” brain and becomes the object of a strangulation attempt himself.

Meanwhile, the local townspeople are uneasy at the possibility of Frederick continuing his grandfather’s work. Most concerned is Inspector Kemp (Kenneth Mars), who sports an eyepatch, a jointed and extremely creaky wooden arm, and an accent so thick even his own countrymen cannot understand him. Kemp visits the doctor and subsequently demands assurance that he will not create another monster. Upon returning to the lab, Frederick discovers that Frau Blücher is setting the creature free. After she reveals the monster’s love of music, and her own romantic relationship with Frederick’s grandfather, the creature is enraged by sparks from a thrown switch, and escapes from the Frankenstein castle. Teenagers John Watson and Sherlock Holmes meet at the prestigious Brompton Academy. The reticent Watson and intellectual Holmes quickly become good friends as they begin their studies together. Watson also meets Holmes’s mentor Rupert T. Waxflatter, a retired schoolmaster and inventor working on a complete self-propelled, heavier-than-air aircraft. His niece, Elizabeth, is also Holmes’s close friend and love interest; Holmes competes for her affections with fellow student Dudley.

At the same time, two prominent men, Mr. Bobster and Rev. Nesbitt fall victim to a hallucinogen which drives them to their deaths. Noticing newspaper clippings of their deaths in Waxflatter’s office, Holmes starts to notice a connection between them. He takes his suspicions to investigator Mr. LeStrade, only to be rebuffed. Later, Holmes is expelled from the Academy due to Dudley’s machinations. Before he leaves, Holmes has one last match with his fencing instructor and equal Prof. Rathe; he only loses due to being distracted by Rathe’s ring. Meanwhile, the mysterious hooded figure responsible for the deaths poisons Waxflatter, driving him to suicide as he attacks imaginary gargoyles. His last words to Holmes are “Eh-Tar.”

Having been barred from attending Waxflatter’s funeral after being expelled from the school grounds, Holmes instead meets with Watson and Elizabeth to discuss the deaths that he determines to be murders. Piecing together the first clues: a jingling sound, a piece of cloth, and a blowpipe, the three of them discovers the existence of Rame Tep, an ancient cult of Osiris worshippers. The cult’s main weapons were blowpipes, which shot thorns dipped into a solution made up of various plant and root extracts. When this solution entered the bloodstream, it caused the victim to experience very realistic, nightmare-like hallucinations, driving them to their deaths. Their investigation then leads to a warehouse of Froggit and Froggit, a Wapping-area manufacturer; they then discover a modern-day revival of Rame Tep. When they interrupt the ceremonial sacrifice of a young girl, the three are attacked by the worshippers. Only through Holmes’s endurance and the intervention of a graveyard caretaker are the three able to survive the hallucinations. Read more

The film begins with a 17-year-old farmhand from rural New York state, Dean Youngblood (Rob Lowe), who has dreams of playing in the National Hockey League. First he must prove to himself, his family and his teammates that he can survive in the harsh, brutal world of Canadian Junior Hockey with a rag tag team of roughnecks, the Hamilton Mustangs. Possessing blazing speed and a quick stick, he has a violent run-in with a brutish player, Carl Racki (George J. Finn), during try-outs. Youngblood quickly learns that flashiness and pure athletic ability will not be enough to be successful in this league.

After his mentor and friend on the team, Derek Sutton (Patrick Swayze) is brutally injured by the thuggish Racki, Youngblood returns home to the farm out of fear, sadness, and disgust. After a pep-talk by his older brother, Kelly (Jim Youngs) about the nature of never quitting and always standing up for yourself, Youngblood is inspired to learn how to fight and survive on the ice and adapt the killer instinct that has been stopping him from being successful. Youngblood returns to the team a new man, ready to confront Racki in the final game of the Memorial Cup playoffs between his team and the Thunder Bay Bombers.

The game ends with a stunning game-winning penalty shot by Youngblood; yet it is far from over as Youngblood demands to his coach, Murray Chadwick (Ed Lauter) to be left in the game as time expires to confront Racki. “Let’s go, Pretty Boy!”, says Youngblood as he and Racki engage in a violent fight to the finish with his teammates and crowd including Youngblood’s father Blane (Eric Nesterenko) and girlfriend Jessie (Cynthia Gibb) (Coach Chadwick’s daughter), cheering him on. The fight starts with both Youngblood and Racki using their sticks as swords until Youngblood knocks Racki’s stick out of his hands. Youngblood and Racki then fight bare-handed. Youngblood emerges victorious, landing several blows to the face and body of his nemesis Racki, and is carried off the ice on the shoulders of his teammates in celebration. Read more

John Tunstall (Terence Stamp), an educated Englishman and cattle rancher in Lincoln County, New Mexico, hires wayward young gun men to live and work on his ranch. Tunstall is in heavy competition with another well-connected rancher named Murphy (Jack Palance) and their men clash on a regular basis. Tunstall recruits Billy (Estevez) and advises him to renounce violence saying that “He who sows the wind will reap the whirlwind.” Tensions escalate between the two camps, resulting in the murder of Tunstall. Billy, Doc (Kiefer Sutherland), Chavez (Lou Diamond Phillips), Dick (Charlie Sheen), Dirty Steve (Dermot Mulroney), and Charlie (Casey Siemaszko), consult their lawyer friend Alex (Terry O’Quinn), who manages to get them deputized and given warrants for the arrest of Murphy’s murderous henchmen.

Billy quickly challenges Dick’s authority as leader, vowing revenge against Murphy and the men responsible for killing Tunstall. The men call themselves “The Regulators” and arrest some of the murderers, but hot-headed Billy is unable to wait for justice. He guns down unarmed men and goes on to kill one of his fellow Regulators in the paranoid (but correct) belief that he was still in league with Murphy. The men are stripped of their badges, which they find out about by reading a newspaper. That same paper also confuses Dick for Billy, showing a picture of Dick labeled “Billy the Kid,” a nickname to which Billy takes an immediate liking.

While the local authorities begin their hunt for Billy and the boys, The Regulators argue about continuing with their warrants or to go on the run. One of the men on their list of warrants tracks them down, barricades himself in an outhouse, and Dick dies in an intense shootout. Billy appoints himself as the new leader, the gang becomes famous and the U.S. Army is charged with bringing them to justice under Murphy’s corrupt political influence. Read more

The film opens in 1950 with a young attorney talking to an elderly man named Brushy Bill Roberts, who claims that he is William H. Bonney (aka Billy The Kid), whom “everyone” knows to have been shot and killed by Pat Garrett in 1881. The majority of the film takes place in flashbacks as the old man recalls his story for the lawyer, who asks if the man has any proof that he is the famous outlaw.

Brushy Bill’s story begins with the remaining Regulators having gone their separate ways. Billy has become part of a new gang with ‘Arkansas’ Dave Rudabaugh (Slater) and Pat Garrett (Petersen). The state governor has issued warrants for the arrests of those involved in the Lincoln County wars, including Billy, Doc Scurlock (Sutherland), and Jose Chavez y Chavez (Phillips), who are dragged into town and imprisoned in a pit dug into the ground to await hanging. This is when Chavez mentions the spirit horse (a horse that is said to carry worthy souls to the other side).

Meanwhile, Billy meets with the new governor Lew Wallace who agrees to pardon Billy if he testifies against the Dolan-Murphy faction. Billy soon finds out that he was tricked into being arrested with no chance of testifying against his old enemies. After pulling out of his cuffs, Billy along with the help of Rudabaugh and Garrett, pose as a lynch mob to spring his old comrades from a hanging. When the gang successfully escape Lincoln, Billy mentions the Mexican Blackbird (a broken trail only him and few others know that leads down to ‘Old’ Mexico). Garrett decides not to go with the gang and, instead, open a boarding house.

As they make a run for the border along with farmer Hendry William French (Ruck) and 14 year old Tom O’Folliard (Getty), John Simpson Chisum and Governor Lew Wallace approach Garrett to persuade him with $1000 to use whatever resources he needs to hunt Bonney down and kill him. Garrett agrees and, forming a posse, begins his pursuit of the gang. Read more

An American spacecraft is hijacked from orbit by a carnivorous space craft; a similar fate befalls a Soviet spacecraft later on. With each country thinking that the other is the cause of its loss, the world is thrown to the brink of World War III. The United Kingdom’s government, however, believes the spacecraft landed in the Sea of Japan, thus suspecting Japanese involvement.

The pre-title sequence depicted 007 (Sean Connery) faking his murder in Hong Kong, allowing Bond more freedom to operate. He is sent to Japan to investigate the British suspicion, in conjunction with the Japanese secret service leader “Tiger” Tanaka (Tetsur? Tamba).

At a Tokyo sumo wrestling match Bond contacts Tanaka’s assistant Aki (Akiko Wakabayashi), who takes him to meet with a local MI6 operative, Dikko Henderson (Charles Gray). Henderson claims to have critical evidence for the rogue craft originating in Japan, but is murdered before he can reveal it. Bond kills the assailant and steals his identity. He is brought to their headquarters, which turns out to be Osato Chemicals. Once there, Bond breaks into an office safe of the Japanese corporate head, Mr. Osato (Teru Shimada), and steals some documents after triggering the alarm.

As Bond flees, Aki picks him up in her car. However, Bond becomes suspicious when she avoids his questions and flees to a secluded subway station. When Bond chases her, he falls through a trapdoor and slides into Tanaka’s office. After identifying each other, they examine Bond’s documents. The main item of interest is a tourist photograph of a cargo ship called the Ning-Po and a microdot on it containing a message that operatives “liquidated” the tourist who took the photo as a security measure.
