Defiance
Defiance is an upcoming World War II film directed by Edward Zwick, director of Blood Diamond and The Last Samurai, and set for limited United States release on December 31, 2008[1]. Set in conquered Poland during World War II, the film is an adaptation of Nechama Tec’s Defiance: The Bielski Partisans based on the true story of the Bielski partisans. In the book, pacifistic and unmilitant Polish Jews come together to train in the military arts and oppose the German and Russian occupation of their homeland.
